I have the original basic Sweater Wizard and would like to place a pattern repeat in a sweater design. However, "pattern placement" is greyed out in the pattern options. How do I access this feature? Thank you.

To access pattern placement in Sweater Wizard, you will need to upgrade to the Pro version of the software. The Pro version includes the feature to place a pattern repeat in a sweater design.
It's impossible to say if the Sweater Wizard will work on Windows 10 or not because there is no download available and the official domain is now expired without any intention to renew it. In this unfortunate case, the software is considered discontinued without any possibility to download, buy or update it anymore.
However, if you manage to obtain an installation package, right click it and choose Run as Administrator.

It's hard to say if it creates written or graph instructions, because the official domain is now expired. This makes it hard to download or even check the troubleshooting or user guides. If you have the Sweater Wizard software installed, look in the installation directory or start it then go to Help > Contents. You will have better luck finding the answer to your question this way.
Sweater Wizard 3.0 software is not available anymore. There were some resellers, including Amazon, that had the product for sale but it's not available anymore.
Unfortunately, the Sweater Wizard has been discontinued by developer. You could try using compatibility mode, but it's uncertain if it will work or not.
This application was available only for the Windows operating system. I say 'was' because the official website isn't available anymore which means there is also no compatible version for Mac OS. No, the software isn't ported to Mac OS because it has been discontinued by the developer. You might need to use another application. In this case, I recommend you to access the database of Software Informer. Use the 'search' field to look for other applications.
You can't purchase Sweater Wizard anymore because it has been discontinued by the developer. You can try to find in on Amazon or other similar websites but its price varies from a vendor to another.
All these applications are developed by Knitting Software which seems to be out of business. The official web page domain has expired and now these programs can be purchased only from Amazon or other similar websites.

Sweater Wizard can work only with .swe files. Firstly, in order to open the files, check if you're trying to open a .swe file with the new version of the program. Right-click the file you want to open, click Properties and check the information next to Type of file. If it is a .swe file, uninstall the program from your computer (Control Panel > Uninstall a program), run CCleaner and install it again. This should fix it.
